Hey everyone!
Today I’m going to be covering the quarterly beauty box. Most people don’t even know that Walmart has a beauty box. It is a quarterly box (so 4 times a year, once a season) for like 6 or 7 bucks (they just charge you for shipping but the box itself is free).
It features sample or trial sizes of featured products from their beauty section. I’ve gotten some real treasures over the years, as well as a few products that I would never use so it’s a hit and miss (but usually they’re hits). This box, for example, only has one product that i doubt I’ll ever reach for (I’ll let you know which one it is when I talk about it).
So let’s get into what’s in this season’s box. First off, we have a sample of Milani Conceal and Perfect Blue Out Smoothing Primer. I’m looking forward to trying this out. I usually use the elf Power Grip Primer, which works great, but a new good primer is always welcome.
Next we have Maybelline Sky High Mascara. I’m also looking forward to trying this to see if it makes a difference with my lashes. My eyelashes used to be long, full and curved. But then I had eye surgery and now they’re all over the place. So let’s see what this does for me.
Next in line we have the OGX Moisturicing Coconut Milk Shampoo. I’ve heard good things about this brand. And I do need a new shampoo (I’ve bought a few recently which will be in another haul). I’m disappointed rhat it didn’t come as a set though cu I would like to know how the line works in my hair.
Up next, we have EOS 24h Moisture Lotion. I was glad when I saw that I got this because in a recent Walmart Beauty Box, I got the Shower Gel to this product, so now I have a set to travel with. It smells good too and it is quite moisturizing too, which is essential cuz that’s what its for.
Now for the product I’m pretty sure I will never use…the Eva NYC Dry Shampoo. In general, African Americans do not use dry shampoo (especially those with natural hair). There are exceptions to this though. I don’t personally know any that do use it. But I’m sure there are some somewhere. This is generally because, especially those of us with natural hair, welcome the oils secreted from our scalps as it aids in nourishing our hair. I’ll keep yall posted if I ever do use it, though I doubt I’ll find a reason to. It does smell great though. Very nice if you’re into vanilla scents. Smells like Warm Vanilla Sugar from Bath and Body Works.
Lastly, there was an awesome perfume sample from Adjdas called Get Comfy. It smells delicious and the name is fitting. It reminds me of fresh, new pajamas and a movie night or a good book with a cup of hot chocolate. It also has notes of vanilla in it too, which I love!
