Product Review: Mielle Edition

Today’s post is going to be a brief overview of my thoughts on the Mielle products I purchased in my large haul recently (well, 3 out of the 4). We’re going to be looking at the Rosemary Mint Sugar Scalp Scrub, the Rosemary Mint Strengthening Hair Masque and the Thermal and Heat Protectant Spray.

Now first the scalp scrub. I must say for starters, this is a great concept: to make a Scalp Scrub out of sugar so its not too harsh is a great idea, in theory. I’m not quite sure if the execution lived up to the pedestal I put this product on in my mind. I don’t find that it did very much in terms of making my hair feel cleaned, but I suppose it was good for a first cleanse. I will use more of it next time and see if I can tell any better results.

Next up, we have the deep conditioner which is the Rosemary Mint Strengthening Hair Masque. I will say if the bat, I expected more. When I put it on, I was thinking there isn’t much slip to this product. But I said to myself ‘lemme not judge it too quickly. After all, you can’t really tell until you’re washing it out whether or not it has enough slip’. Well the verdict is in! The more I rinsed it out, the less and less hopeful I got. In the end, it was just ok. But I will give it another chance for one reason: I had only used body heat with my hair in a shower cap to do the conditioning, so I feel like it deserves a shot to prove itself under a hooded dryer for maximum effect.

Last up, we have the Thermal and Heat Protectant Spray. There isn’t that much to say about this product, other than it works! It smells good, and it is effective. I used it in my hair before I blow dried and hot combed it and my hair reverted when it got wet, right back to its original state, so I am pleased with this one! It is a wet formula so keep that in mind though (don’t want you frying your hair!)
