Product Review: Jergens Crema in Soothing Aloe Vera

Hey everyone!

As the title suggests, today’s review will be on a fairly new product from a very well known skincare company…a body cream from Jergens. I’m a fan of their extra dry skin moisturizer, so I was quite curious to see how this new  cream matched up to their well known lotions.

I have very dry skin, so I find that most lotions on a whole, are ineffective. They smell great but about 10 minutes after I put them on, my skin is dry again. When it comes to some of my favorite companies such as Victoria’s Secret and Bath & Body Works, I have to use their body creams or butters, as opposed to their lotions, to actually get moisturized skin.

On first impression, I must say I had mixed feelings about it. I definitely didn’t dislike it, but I’m wasn’t in love with it either, but only for one reason. The cream is a slightly greenish hue, and has creamy rich consistency  (without being too thick). You cannot possibly feel dry after using this cream, which is a good thing, especially if you have dry skin. It feels great going on, and doesn’t leave you shiny after application.

The only qualm I seemed to have with this product, was that, though it did absorb partially and leave my skin feeling good, it never seemed to get fully absorbed into the skin. The problem with that was, my skin seemed to stay feeling sticky. It was great to moisturize my legs with when I was putting on cotton sweatpants but I was concerned that it may too clammy to wear a skirt or anything that was made of silk or satin with.

I decided that I needed to give the product a fair chance, so I decided to try it a couple more times before passing judgement. After all, Jergens is one of my favorite skincare brands. I tried it two more times, and I have a final verdict: it is amazing!!! I came to the realization that I was simply using way too much product. I’m so used to having to slather on loads of product to get a moisturizing effect, so I assumed that naturally this body cream must have been the same way. But when I say that’s a little goes a long way, I am not kidding!  And that says alot coming from me, for how dry my skin is. Did I mention the moisture lasts all day?! Job well done Jergens!

This body cream originally retails for around  $6.99, but my mom picked it up in Ross for  $4.99.
