Hey everyone!
I’m sure at least a few of you are familiar with the brand Burt’s Bees. It’s a moderately priced cosmetic brand that features mainly all natural ingredients. I come across this brand quite often on trips to Walgreens, featuring products from lip balms to face and skin care items. I’ve been somewhat curious to try them, especially after hearing positive reviews, but could never bring myself to pay such a steep price for the products I wanted to find out about.
My chance to try out one of their products came in a beauty box sold by Walmart. It’s a relatively new launch by the store chain, and is apparently being released once a season with various samples of products they offer for sale. It costs $5 (just for he shipping, the samples in it are at no charge). I found a few interesting things in the box, but my eyes immediately went to the Burt’s Bees product. They were makeup wipes/facial cleansing towelettes.
It was perfect timing as it was the end of the day and I did need to remove my makeup, so I took out a wipe and tried it. Now first off,let me say I try my best not to write negative reviews. There may be things I don’t fancy about a product, but overall I try to be positive. So I’ll start with staying that it definitely does remove the makeup and cleanse the face, as it was intended to do. However, I do not like this wipe, and I will not be using it again. I don’t even think I can go so far as to finish the 10 wipe package before discontinuing use.
This is all due to one reason: THEY BURN!!! OH MY MERCY, DO THEY BURN! Not like a pleasant tingle that lets you know a product is working, or has tea tree oil or something. I’m talking the burn like my face was on fire! It wouldn’t have been so bad if it only burned my eyes. Then I could say I’ll use them and just keep away from the eye area, but it was just awful. I am so disappointed, I head such high hopes for this stuff.
If the burn doesn’t bother you, you can find these facial towelettes in the full size (30 pk) at Walgreens pharmacy for around $5.99.
I’m curious to know if any of you have ever tried these wipes. If you have, how did you like them? What’s your favorite brand of makeup remover wipes? Thank you so much for stopping by.
