Hey everyone!
During a recent sale on the Sephora website, I came across an eye shadow palette I’ve been wanting to try out, but was not willing to pay for. Along with this, they were also offering a chance for Beauty Insiders to try 3 free deluxe samples, in addition to the 3 apples that come with every Sephora website order. I figured with the palette on sale and 6 free items with it, there was no better time to place this order.
I decided to get this item in particular when going through the list of available options, largely because of the price tag of the full sized product. The full size, which is only 1.7 ounces by the way, is a whopping 65 bucks!! I figure for that price, this product must be a miracle worker! Though I have oily skin, I usually have pretty clear skin, but for those times when my skin decides to wage war against me, it’s good to have heavy ammo in my arsenal to combat it (lol, see what I did there?? Dwl smh). I mean, no one likes a break out, am I right?!
As luck would have it, my usually clear skin gave me MORE than enough opportunity to try this product out recently. It’s been really misbehaving. After trying this product out for over a week, here are my thoughts:
PROS
– It has a good consistency
– is not sticky
– It doesn’t flake off or scale when it dries
– It doesn’t break me out
– I love that it comes in a resealable tube. I dislike when I have to rush to finish a sample or I can’t carry it anywhere because it comes in a satchet that I have to tear open.
– It does something…..I guess
CONS
– Expensive. Very expensive
– Not very effective
All in all, I’m so glad I never had to pay for this product. Though it didn’t do me any harm, it didn’t seem to do much good. After the reviews I read and the cost if it, I was sure that it would be miraculous, or at the very least pretty effective. I was unimpressed with the results. I hardly saw any changes from using it. I used it as the directions state, twice a day, on cleansed skin and thinly layered. The results I saw were so minimal that I can’t even be sure whether to credit this gel, or just my skin doing its own thing to heal over time as it normally would. Interestingly enough, I seem to get more impressive results from the elf zit zapper, which costs only 1 dollar!
You all may have different results from using it, so if you can afford to, then feel free to try it out. The only pacer of mind you can have is if it doesn’t work for you, Sephora has an amazing return policy so you can take it back if you don’t like it.
Anyway, I hope you all enjoyed the review and/or found it helpful. Have you all ever tried this product, or anything else from this line? If so, what did you think? Did you have better results than I did? I’d love to hear from you. Thanks for stopping by! I alleviate it.
